A Rheem AC installation in Las Vegas typically runs between $3,500 and $7,500 depending on the model line, your home’s square footage, and whether you’re replacing an existing system or starting fresh. We’re an independent Rheem service provider, so we can install, replace, and service Rheem equipment without being tied to any manufacturer’s sales quotas or preferred-parts markups. Most installations take one to three days, and we hand you a written price before any work begins, so the number you see is the number you pay.
This page is for homeowners in Las Vegas who own or are considering a Rheem system and want straight answers about what installation costs, how long it takes, and what actually goes into a proper job. If you have questions or want a free estimate, call (725) 726-3813.
How Rheem Products Fail – and How We Fix Them
Rheem builds dependable equipment, but every brand has patterns. After nearly two decades of working on Rheem systems across Las Vegas, here’s what we see most often, and what we do about it when an installation or replacement becomes necessary:
- Rheem Classic Series condenser fan motors burning out early. The Classic line is Rheem’s entry-level workhorse, but in Las Vegas heat, the condenser fan motor runs nearly nonstop from May through September. We regularly see these motors fail in year eight or nine when the bearings dry out. When the motor fails on an older Classic unit, we’ll often recommend a full installation rather than a repair, because the compressor is usually not far behind.
- Rheem Prestige Series capacitor degradation. The Prestige line uses dual-run capacitors that sit in a hot cabinet all summer. Once the capacitor weakens, the compressor start current spikes and that’s when you get a unit that hums but won’t kick on. A capacitor is a cheap fix, but a Prestige unit that has burned through two capacitors in a season is telling us the compressor is laboring. That’s a replacement conversation, not a third capacitor.
- Rheem Endeavor Line reversing valve sticking on heat pump models. If you have a Rheem heat pump, the reversing valve is what switches the system between cooling in July and heating in January. The valve sticks when debris from a failing compressor gets into the refrigerant stream. That’s not a valve-only fix. A stuck reversing valve on an Endeavor heat pump usually means a new outdoor unit, because the compressor contamination is already done.
- Evaporator coil leaks on Rheem units paired with older furnaces. Rheem coils are solid, but we see pinhole leaks form when a new Rheem coil gets paired with an older furnace of a different brand and the airflow was never matched. The coil sweats more than it should, and over years, the moisture plus Las Vegas’s alkaline dust eats through the copper. When we install Rheem equipment, we calculate the coil match before we quote, not after it leaks.
- Rheem EcoNet control board communication faults. The EcoNet system is Rheem’s communicating thermostat and control package. When the control board loses communication with the air handler, the system locks out entirely. In some cases, we can reflash the board. In others, the board replacement cost on an older Rheem unit is high enough that moving to a new installation with a fresh EcoNet setup is the smarter money.

Our Rheem AC Installation Process
- 1
You call us. A live person answers, 24 hours a day. We ask about your current system, the age of the unit, and what it’s doing. You get a real conversation, not a voicemail tree.
- 2
We come out and measure. We do a full load calculation on your home, not a glance at the old unit’s tonnage. Square footage, window orientation, insulation, and duct condition all get factored in. In Las Vegas, undersizing a system by half a ton means a living room that never drops below eighty.
- 3
You get a written price. Before any tools come out, we hand you the full cost with the Rheem equipment listed by model number. That price doesn’t change at the door, and it’s part of how we operate, what we call the Kingswell Way, our standing promise on every job.
- 4
We install the system. We remove the old equipment, set the new Rheem unit, braze the line set, pull a proper vacuum, and charge the refrigerant to the manufacturer’s specification. We’re trained on Rheem equipment specifically, along with Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, York, Daikin, Bryant, and American Standard, so the same crew can work on whatever else your home has.
- 5
We test everything. Static pressure, superheat, subcooling, airflow, and the EcoNet controls are all checked before we leave. The system runs through a full cycle in cooling mode, and we walk the house with you to make sure every room is dropping in temperature.
- 6
You get the guarantee in writing. Every Rheem installation comes with our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the installed system fails within a full year, we come back and correct the work at no charge. That guarantee is written down, not spoken.

AfterWhat Rheem AC Installation Costs in Las Vegas
Most Rheem AC installations in Las Vegas land between $3,500 and $7,500. Here’s how that plays out in real scenarios:
- Rheem Classic Series single-stage AC, basic 14 SEER replacement: $3,500 – $4,500 depending on the size of your home and the condition of the existing ductwork.
- Rheem Prestige Series variable-speed AC, 17 – 20 SEER: $5,000 – $7,500. You’re paying for tighter temperature control, quieter operation, and better humidity handling.
- Rheem Endeavor Line heat pump full system: $5,500 – $7,500 including the air handler and EcoNet controls.
- Rheem AC paired with a new furnace or air handler: $6,000 – $7,500 when the whole system gets replaced at once.
The main variables are the SEER rating, the size of the unit in tons, whether the line set needs to be rerouted, and whether your ductwork is in good shape. A free estimate is how you get an exact number for your home. Call (725) 726-3813 and we’ll send a technician out to measure and price it properly.
Why Las Vegas Homeowners Call Cold Harbour Heating and Air Las Vegas for Rheem Work
We’ve been working on Rheem systems in Las Vegas since 2003. Victor Mancini, our owner, learned the trade at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College and spent the better part of two decades turning wrenches on residential and light commercial systems across the Southwest before setting up shop here. He knows what a 115-degree July afternoon in Summerlin does to a heat pump, and he built this company around two simple rules: show up when you say you will, and explain the work in plain English.
The name Cold Harbour comes from the old roadside shelters where travelers waited out bad weather. Comfort in any season is the job. And the job is backed by the 365-Day Done Right Promise: every installation we do is covered in writing for a full year. If it fails, we return at no charge. No fine print, no runaround. We answer the phone around the clock, and when the technician arrives, they’re background-checked, uniformed, and trained across nine major HVAC brands, so the same crew that installs your Rheem can also keep a Carrier, Trane, or Lennox system running elsewhere in the home.
FAQs
No, installing a Rheem unit through Cold Harbour Heating and Air Las Vegas does not void the manufacturer’s warranty. We follow Rheem’s installation specifications exactly as written in the installation manual, and we document the work. The manufacturer’s warranty stays intact, and on top of that, our own 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the installation work in writing for a full year. Call (725) 726-3813 if you want to know how your specific warranty applies.
Most Rheem AC installations in Las Vegas are scheduled within three to seven business days of the estimate, and the installation itself takes one to three days. In the middle of a Las Vegas summer, we prioritize homes where the system has failed completely and the indoor temperature is unsafe. If you’re down and it’s over 100 degrees out, call (725) 726-3813 and we’ll tell you the soonest we can get a crew there.
We use genuine OEM Rheem parts on Rheem installations unless you authorize otherwise. For controllers, sensors, and EcoNet components, OEM is the only responsible choice because aftermarket boards rarely communicate correctly with the Rheem system. For basic components like capacitors and contactors, we may offer a quality aftermarket alternative if it meets or exceeds the OEM spec and saves you money. You’ll know before anything gets installed, and the price is on paper first.
If your Rheem unit is over ten years old and the compressor, evaporator coil, or control board has failed, replacement is usually the better long-term financial decision in Las Vegas, where the system runs hard for six months straight. A good rule of thumb we give customers: if the repair cost multiplied by the age of the unit is more than $5,000, a new installation is the smarter spend. We’ll walk you through the numbers without pushing a sale. Call (725) 726-3813 and come see it for yourself.
Yes, we install Rheem systems in homes that previously ran Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, York, Daikin, Bryant, or American Standard equipment. The installation involves matching the new Rheem coil to the existing furnace or air handler if you’re not replacing that half of the system, and we calculate that match before we quote. The result is a Rheem AC running properly on the existing ductwork, with no airflow or refrigerant mismatches.
If you’re in Las Vegas and need Rheem AC installation, repair, or an honest second opinion, call us at (725) 726-3813. You’ll get a live person, a written price, and a guaranteed installation. Tell me what it’s doing, and I’ll tell you what it costs, no guesswork, no runaround.
